c) Download area for customers

On our website there is a download area for customers, where customers of mes can log in with their username and password. This personal data is collected and stored solely for the purpose of accessing the download area on the mes website, where mes customers provide information and, if necessary, updates on their products for download.

The legal basis for the processing of this personal data is Art. 1 point b GDPR, because the processing is necessary for the performance of a contract between mes and the data subject or for the implementation of pre-contractual measures carried out at the request of the data subject.

d) Direct mail

We may use the company, address, contact person’s name, and email address we have received from you in connection with downloading trial versions of software products from the mes website or the conclusion of a software license agreement or software maintenance and maintenance contract for direct marketing of our own similar goods or services, unless you have objected to the use. The legal basis for that use is Article 6(3). 1 point f GDPR, because processing is necessary to safeguard the legitimate interests of mes. The legitimate interests pursued by mes hereby are the promotion of products and services to customers. e) Teams

mes uses Microsoft Teams to conduct online meetings, telephone conferences, video conferences and/or online seminars (hereinafter: online meetings). Microsoft Teams is a product of Microsoft Corporation.

Responsible for data processing, which is directly related to the conduct of online meetings, is mes.

What data is processed?: When using Microsoft Teams, different types of data are processed. The scope of the data also depends on what information about data is provided before or when participating in an online meeting.
The following personal data are subject to processing:
– User information: e.g. display name, e-mail address if applicable, profile picture (optional), preferred language
– Meeting metadata: e.g. date, time, meeting ID, phone numbers, location
– Text, audio and video data: It is possible to use the chat function in an online meeting.

In this respect, the text entries made by the respective user are processed in order to display them in the online meeting. In order to enable the display of video and the playback of audio, the data from the microphone of your terminal device and any video camera of the terminal device will be processed accordingly during the duration of the meeting. The camera or microphone can be deactivated or muted by the user at any time via the Microsoft Teams applications.

mes uses Microsoft Teams to conduct online meetings. If online meetings are to be recorded, this must be communicated transparently in advance and, if necessary, consent must be requested.
The chat content is logged when using Microsoft Teams. If it is necessary for the purpose of logging the results of an online meeting, mes will log the chat content. As a rule, however, this will not be the case.
Automated decision-making within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR is not used.

Legal basis of data processing: Insofar as personal data of employees of mes are processed, § 26 BDSG is the legal basis for data processing. If, in connection with the use of Microsoft Teams, personal data is not required for the establishment, implementation or termination of the employment relationship, but is nevertheless an elementary component in the use of Microsoft Teams, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR is the legal basis for data processing. In these cases, we are interested in the effective conduct of online meetings.
In addition, the legal basis for data processing when conducting online meetings is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) GDPR, insofar as the meetings are carried out within the framework of contractual relationships.
If there is no contractual relationship, the legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. Here, too, we are interested in the effective conduct of online meetings.

f) TeamViewer

We enable our customers to use the “TeamViewer” of the provider TeamViewer GmbH, Jahnstr. 30, 73037 Göppingen for the purpose of online meetings and remote support. For more information about TeamViewer’s privacy and data security, see https://www.teamviewer.com/de/security.

The legal basis for the processing of your personal data by means of “TeamViewer” is Art. 1 point b GDPR, because the processing is necessary for the performance of a contract between mes and the data subject or for the implementation of pre-contractual measures carried out at the request of the data subject.

g) Use of cookies

Cookies are used when using the website. Cookies are intended to personalise the website for your visit and to facilitate the use of the website. Cookies are small text files that the website transmits to the cookie file of the internet browser on your device and is held there for later retrieval, so that the website can remember, among other things, who you are. A cookie typically contains the name of the domain from which the cookie originates, the “lifetime” of the cookie, and a unique identifier. The following types of cookies are used on the wealysis page:

Remarketing

(j) YouTube

mes has integrated videos from YouTube on its website that are stored on https://youtube.com for the purpose that these YouTube videos are playable directly on our website. Every time you access a mes website on which a YouTube video has been integrated, YouTube and Google get informed about which specific subpage of our website is visited by the user. In addition, the above-mentioned information and personal data of the user will be transmitted to YouTube.

YouTube and Google receive information via the YouTube component that a user has visited our website whenever they are logged in to YouTube or Google at the time they access our website; this takes place regardless of whether the user clicks on a YouTube video or not. This information is assigned to the user’s account on Google or YouTube. If the user does not want such a transmission of this information to YouTube and Google, the user can prevent the transmission by logging out of his YouTube account before calling our website.

YouTube stores the data collected about the user as user profiles and uses them for the purposes of advertising, market research and/or the design of its website according to needs. Such an evaluation is carried out in particular (also for unlogged users) for the presentation of demand-oriented advertising and in order to inform other users of Google or YouTube about the activities of the user on our website. (jj) Google Maps

mes has integrated the offer of Google Maps on its website. This allows us to display interactive maps directly on the website and enable you to use the map function conveniently.

4. Duration of storage of personal data
