Why is the e-invoicing obligation coming?

With the Growth Opportunities Act comes e-invoicing: From 1 January 2025, companies must be able to receive, process and send taxable B2B invoices in Germany (with a few exceptions).

How does e-invoicing work?

An e-invoice is created in a structured data format, such as XML or EDIFACT, and sent to the recipient via electronic channels. The recipient can automatically read and process the invoice into their system.

Why switch to e-invoicing now?
